Concert of Viking and Medieval Music

Where: Town Hall, Lerwick
Take a musical journey back in time to the old Norse world with us and Kåre A Lie, Tove G Lie, Maja Marcussen and Idun Sweeny (Maja's nine-year old daughter) who together comprise the group 'Strengleikr' (which translated means "having fun with strings"). 'Strengleikr' will be joined by Finnish musician Marianne Maans, to perform a programme of Viking and Medieval music.
The music will be performed on authentic, ancient, acoustic instruments, such as gut-strung medieval harp, wire strung early clarsach, psalter, medieval fiddle, bowed lyre and esse key fiddle.
An evening of rich, evocative and haunting Scandinavian music is promised.
