Fetlar Foy

Saturday 20 June @ 3.00pm

Where: Tresta, Fetlar

The 11th Fetlar Foy boasts another jam-packed line up of live music and many other fun-filled events, including football tournaments plus other 'sporting' events and challenges, BBQ's and a licensed bar (photo ID will be required) – you name it and it's likely to be happening in Fetlar. Session musicians are also welcome to entertain visitors throughout the day.

This year, in recognition of the Johnsmas Foy's Viking theme, the Fetlar Foy will also feature a visit from marauding North Isles Vikings, and (it's hoped) a torch-lit procession. There will also be Viking games such as the board game 'Hnefatafl' and a version of Viking bowls.

Camping and caravan facilities are available at the Fetlar camp site and other accommodation on the island includes B & B, self-catering and Aithbank Camping Böd. Visit visit.shetland.org for further details.

Travel to Fetlar is by scheduled ferry, although additional ferry trips are likely to be made on 20 and 21 June to take account of the demand for this event. Check local press for sailing times or call the ferry booking office on (01957) 722259. It is strongly advised you book ferry passage in advance for this event.

Cost: £10 at the gate
