Scandinavian Fiddle and Vocal Workshop

Where: Islesburgh Community Centre, King Harald Street, Lerwick
Acclaimed Finnish musician Marianne Maans delivers a workshop focusing on Finnish and Swedish fiddle tunes, accompanied by some vocal parts. This is a unique opportunity for local and visiting fiddle players to absorb some traditional Scandinavian tunes and to learn more about their traditional music, to exchange musical ideas and to witness the playing of some ancient Scandinavian instruments such as the bowed lyre and esse key fiddle. The workshop is scheduled to last 2 hours.
A perfect introduction to the concert of Viking and Medieval music.
